O conceito de felicidade na filosofia moral kantiana. Principais considerações
Abstract
The essential aim of this paper is to investigate the main considerations on the Kantian concept of happiness. The paper is composed of three stages. In an initial moment we will present how Kant refuses happiness as the end of morality. Then, we will clarify the Kantian distinction between the doctrine of happiness and moral doctrine, trying also to explain the distinction between the concept of happiness <Glückseligkeit>, and another, the self-contentment <Selbstzufriedenheit>. Finally, although Kant refuses happiness as the fi nal end of morality, he believes that it can be understood as a duty, at least in a certain sense. Thus, we will show how Kant advocates the promotion of the happiness of others, which constitutes the foundation of duties towards others and also an end.
