O papel das emoções altruístas na escolha e na moralidade das ações beneficentes
Abstract
In this paper I discuss an example of beneficial action presented by Rachels. I argue that the processes for attaining information that input moral decisions in contexts involving caring and beneficence turn on the presence of altruistic emotions. I then argue that Rachel’s theory of rational decision does not warrant the full moral sense of beneficial actions, because emotional affects are constitutive of the morality of beneficial acts such as those of caring and helping.
