LA PERTINENCE DES ÉMOTICÔNES EN CONTEXTE DE COMMUNICATION MÉDIÉE PAR ORDINATEUR (CMO)
Resumo
Today, there has been a significant growth in Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) over the past fifty years. From now on, electronic communications are an important part of our everyday life, while using the emoticons which where innovated in 1982. Since the written forms of electronic communication are increasingly used, Emoticons are considered to be socio-emotional providers of the Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC). This article examines scientific research in this field to collect various studies on the use of Emoticons on some facets of the CMC, namely Facebook, Instant Messaging (IM), and Short Messaging Service (SMS). One of the main conclusions of our study shows that emoticons could
be considered as derivational, flexional or abbreviated units.
