Olly Reinheimer e a arte têxtil brasileira pós-segunda guerra: continuidades e descontinuidades na apropriação do “outro”

Patricia Reinheimer

Resumo

This article is an analysis of Olly Reinheimer's textile production, created between the 1950s and 1970s. It considers how the so-called ‘primitive’ material culture was used as a reference in this production. On the one hand, the artifacts of material culture were linked to an ideology of national formation, a way to build her national
belonging, part of an individual project of insertion in Brazilian society. On the other hand, they were part of the production of a specific way of presenting women of a certain middle class through their clothing, jewelry, and home furnishings.
