Gli Statuti della Compagnia degli Italiani di Nostra Signora di Loreto (1577)

Resumo

RESUMO: A recuperação dos inéditos Statuti della Compagnia degli Italiani
della Casa e Chiesa di Nostra Signora di Loreto di Lisbona, redigidos nos finais de
março de 1577, insere-se no âmbito da atividade investigativa e dos interesses
culturais e historiográficos do autor, principalmente focados no estudo das
devoções marianas e congregacionais que se desenvolveram na época moderna,
entre os séculos XVI e XVIII. Nesta perspetiva, a leitura dos originários trinta
capítulos estatutários pode constituir um interessante testemunho da tentativa da construção identitária da Nação Italiana ativa na capital portuguesa em torno do culto lauretano, e sobre os mecanismos da caritativa solidariedade interna, seja da própria Confraria, seja da mais ampla Congregação do Santíssimo Sacramento, ligados às conhecidas aspirações de renovação religiosa do século XVI, alimentadas e controladas já no período pós-tridentino da Santa Sé através da experimentada política de concessão de indulgências.

ABSTRACT: The recovery of the unpublished Statuti della Compagnia
degli Italiani della Casa e Chiesa di Nostra Signora di Loreto di Lisbona, written
at the end of March 1577, is part of the research activity and the cultural and
historiographic interests of the author, mainly focused on the study of the Marian
and Congregational devotions that developed in the modern era, between the
sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. In this perspective, the reading of the original thirty statutory chapters can be an interesting testimony to the attempt to construct the active Italian nation’s identity in the Portuguese capital around the lauretan cult, and on the mechanisms of charitable internal solidarity, whether of the Confraria itself or of the the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, linked to the well-known aspirations for religious renewal of the sixteenth century, fed and controlled already in the post-Tridentine period of the Holy See through the experienced policy of granting indulgences.
