Questões de género em manuais para o ensino do francês nas primeiras décadas do século XX

Resumo

Based on two French textbooks which had several editions over the first half of the 20th century, this article seeks to identify a set of real or symbolic relations between men and women, marked by gender, reflected in these textbooks. Those relations are founded on an educational concept of the school that reproduces and perpetuates traditional distinct social roles, as well as a binary view of the masculine and the feminine, the textbook functioning as a medium in the transmission of a worldview, inevitably guiding the learner.
