Brigitte Paulino-Neto et la mise en vitrail de l’origine
Resumo
French writer with Portuguese origins, Brigitte Paulino-Neto has published four novels mainly in Portuguese narrative context. Though she is not a foreign writer, she happens to be presented, both in France and Portugal, as a migrant writer; which she is not either, except in a metaphoric meaning i.e. as a passeur between two worlds. After two papers about Brigitte Paulino-Neto’s other novel, I would like to propose an approach of her latest one Dès que tu meurs, appelle-moi (2010), in order to highlight the role of individual and collective memory, as well as the relevance of the symbolic function of the relationship daughter-mother. It will appear clearly that Brigitte Paulino-Neto does belong to French literature in all its extension though her work is deeply influenced by her Portuguese roots.
